The third and final round of the 49th Illinois Women’s Golf Association’s Senior Women’s Amateur was held today, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Metamora Fields Golf Course in Metamora. Jan Bowers successfully defended her title with a sizzling final round of 2 under par 70, for a three day total of 221. Mary Ellen Martin, from Winfield, finished 2nd with a 228. Lucy Sievers, Wilmette finished third with a total of 232. Mary Tweedie of Bloomington was the low net winner over the field, with a net score of 204.
The field was treated to another spectacular fall day for golf. Of the top 10 players coming into the final round, nine of the players bettered their second round score.
